In the Box - The Gallery Watches Back!

Bricolage Collective will present ‘In the Box’, a stream of 160 of our images on a large screen in Dunedin Fringe’s White Box Gallery. This will run from 2 November to 10 December, 2026.

Facing George Street in central Ōtepoti Dunedin, the White Box will offer passers-by a 24/7 opportunity to view our contemporary photography.

But we will be looking back! A motion-activated camera inside the gallery will capture viewers’ responses to our work. With permission, these portraits of Ōtepoti’s street-side art audience will feature in a follow-up exhibition, ‘Out of the Box’, during the Dunedin Fringe Festival which runs from 15 March to 15 April 2027.

We’ll get creative by blending or distorting images and people won’t be able to recognise you unless you have given us your permission to show your face by opting in to the project.
