Fragmenting - Henrik Moller
A ridge of dead wilding pines at Lake Moke, Central Otago, becomes a story of despair and hope. As invasive pines overrun New Zealand’s native landscapes, conservationists respond with chainsaws, poison, and aerial herbicide spraying in a battle to save fragmenting ecosystems. The images themselves are fractured and incomplete, echoing the way the ecological fabric of these landscapes is being frayed by the relentless spread of wilding pines.
