Michelle Rae

Michelle comes from a creative family who enjoy spinning, weaving, drawing, playing instruments and even restoring old vehicles. She feels that being surrounded by people who made things with their hands, shaped her appreciation for originality and craftsmanship. That sense of connection still guides her today, and she’s drawn to things that feel authentic, unique and grounded.

Her fascination with cameras began at school, and she quickly became the family member who documented everything. It wasn’t until she moved to London in her twenties, and spent five years travelling through Europe, Africa and India, that she really understood why photography had such a pull on her. The world’s detail, magic and beauty captured her attention — from architecture, people and colour to those unforgettable African sunsets and the privilege of seeing elephants and other wildlife in their natural environments. She wanted to capture all of that beauty and share it with others.

Photography has led her on a path of exploration, introducing her to amazing people and giving her opportunities she never could have imagined. It has become a way for her to explore and experiment and to develop her own photographic voice. Michelle’s hope is that her work encourages people to pause, breathe and reconnect with themselves, and to see and enjoy the extraordinary world around us.

Thank you for taking the time to check out Michelle’s stunning images and for joining her on this incredibly special journey.
