Janice Brockett

Janice describes herself as a creative. She paints in watercolours, oils and acrylics, does ceramics and has had a go at many other artistic activities ranging from smocking to tapestry. When it comes to photography, Janice considers herself a sports photographer but admits her images have changed over the years. She attributes this shift mainly to her membership of Clutha Camera Club which, she says, has opened her eyes to so many other genres of photography that she is now really enjoying. In fact, light-painting has become something of a passion for her as she waits with anticipation each time to see not only what light the camera will detect, but also what shapes the light will produce.

Her camera is Janice’s constant travelling companion, even on short trips, as she is constantly on the lookout for potential subjects for images. And although she admits that landscapes aren’t her thing, she is well aware that when she does create landscape images, they help to reinforce the principles of composition, leading lines and depth of field and their value in the production of great images.
