Graham Corbett

Graham said that when considering what to say about himself and his photography, he thought he should say why he takes photographs, but he discovered that the answer to that is he doesn’t know! In fact, he says, he can’t even remember starting taking photographs. He just knows he always has from boyhood. Developing film under the bed sheets moved on to befriending the radiographers at work so he could use their darkroom - and he also used a camera extensively in his career.

Nowadays a camera is the notebook that he always carries with him. He enjoys experimenting with new techniques, yet still gets a kick out of the shameless one-eyed lies that the camera can tell! In this new country of New Zealand that Graham has only really had time to explore since his retirement, the camera is his constant go-to for identification of the wonders that he finds.

Have a browse through this small selection of Graham’s work and enjoy the fantastic images he has produced to celebrate those wonders he has found.
